“Yes, I did,” Mike replied to what Tommy had said. He tapped a finger to his lips before asking, “Do you know of anyone who might have had a beef with Mr. Burton?”
“Not really. Tonio was an easy-going guy who everyone liked, as far as I know.”
“Obviously, if you were in here when he died, you can’t alibi anyone on your crew,” Mike said.
“I’m afraid not. I was in here for a good fifteen minutes before it happened. Everyone else was working on the sets the last I saw them.”
“All right. Thank you for your input. You’re free to leave. Would you let Mr. Jones know he’s next, please.”
Tommy left, and a minute later Cedric came in. He looked at Mike, lifting one eyebrow when Mike asked him to take a seat. “Tommy called to say I should come down here. When he told me why…Well, let’s say I’m more than horrified. Am I in for an inquisition?”
“No. Only a few questions. Were you on the premises when Mr. Burton was murdered?”
