“Hell, no. Not that I know of, anyway.”
Sage passed on our conversation. And again, when Jon said, “Maybe Elaine found out something she shouldn’t have and someone killed Tonio as the next step in making everything seem like an accident, including her death when he gets around to it.”
“We’ve already thought of that, although not relating to anyone specific, so far,” Mike replied.
“Then there’s the thing with Tim, Janice, and Alan,” Sage said. “Yeah, it happened after the first couple of accidents, but what if Tim decided to do something about Alan?”
“Meaning?” Mike asked.
“He uses the first two accidents, the ladder and the potential fire, as a springboard. He unlocks the trapdoor, hoping someone will fall through, which Lydia did.” Sage tapped his fingers on the arm of the sofa. “Then…yeah. Were you on the bridge when the actors were leaving for their lunch break, Tonio?”
“I was just going up there.”
