Chapter 57

“Does that cover it?” Sage asked.

“From what we’ve learned so far, I think so,” Mike replied. “If anyone else has a reason to murder one of the cast or crew, they haven’t done anything overt enough to catch other people’s attention at the theater.”

Jon had a thought, and voiced it. “What if the guy in the dressing room wasDavid? He shuts down the other man, who decides eliminating Tonio would open the door for him stepping into David’s life, after a suitable mourning period.”

As always, Sage let Mike know what he’d said, and my reply, which was, “I told you, if it was him, David would have let me know about it. Hell, knowing him, he’d have made a joke of it.”

“Tonio,” Mike said, “Who else besides you and David, and Glenn and his husband, were in committed relationships? Gay men, I mean. Also, how many other men are gay in the company?”

“We were the only two male couples,” I replied. “One of the guys on the stage crew is gay, and two of the actors.”
