“Nope. We’re usually dark Sunday and Monday, except the Sunday before opening night. Being closed on Mondays is a given. Everyone needs one day off, no matter what’s going on.”

Mike’s reply, once Sage relayed my answer, was, “All right. I’ll get the phone for you tomorrow morning, Brody. You can pick it up from Sage. Unless anyone can think of anything else we need to cover, let’s call it a night.”

None of us could, so us ghostie boys, as Mike puts it, went home. 7

Despite the tension I was feeling after our day at the theater, and the meeting Sunday evening with Mike and Sage, I managed to get some sleep.

It still felt weird, going from doing something fairly human—sleeping—then getting up and not having to use the bathroom, get dressed, or fix breakfast. It meant I had the face the reality of my new existence immediately—no easing into it.
