Chapter 64

“Time to stop by Mike and Sage’s place to let Sage know what we’ve found out,” Brody said.

Mike was there when we arrived, so Sage got to play intermediary, as always, when we told Mike about Tommy and Alan, and our suspicions about Carrie and Elaine.

“I can’t imagine anyone being in love with Alan, from what I’ve seen of him,” Mike said when we finished.

“If it was all an act, though,” Sage pointed out. “I feel sorry for him, for both of them, and a bit surprised, too. It’s the theater. Who the hell would care if they’re gay, and together?”

I thought about it, then said, “It’s possible neither of them was willing to accept they were, until they began to have feelings for each other. That could have happened fairly recently. Maybe at one of the opening night parties. A little too much to drink, one of them seeing the other as more than a man he worked with…” I shrugged.
