I snorted. “Would you admit it if you were blackmailing someone?”
“If it kept me from being murdered, too, I might,” Jon replied.
“We’ll tell Mike and let him make the decision,” Brody said.
“And to take Janice and Tim off the list.” I told them why and they agreed.
“As far as I can tell, from watching the men,” Jon said, “I got no feeling one of them was the guy Glenn overheard a couple of weeks ago, talking to David.”
“Not David,” I protested. “We’ve been over that already. It wasn’t him.”
“Well, talking to someone. There was no tension between any of them. No sidelong glances. No nothing out of the ordinary.”
Jon and I looked at Brody. He shook his head. “Everything seemed normal to me.” He chuckled. “Even to the point of Alan reminding everyone not to step on his lines, or else.”
