Chapter 13

He panicked for a moment as he perused his slack options. What if he wasn’t in the same job after all? What if he chose an outfit that was all wrong for whatever his new job was? Cam shook his head as Nellie mewed behind him. Nellie was correct; there was no point in stressing. Cam had never been picky about fashion, and he wasn’t about to start now.

Cam wound up in a white Oxford shirt, navy slacks, and brown dress shoes. He left his hair loose, with a touch of leave-in coconut conditioner for softness and shine. Nothing special, but Cam felt at ease with the look. And it suited him, if Mattie’s compliments and neck kisses were an accurate assessment.

Mattie himself wore tailored black pants with black boots and a silver belt. A crisp white button-down with black buttons was fitted across his chest, underneath a slim black cardigan edged with gray stripes. He’d done a subtle winged eyeliner, with accents of green that complemented his hazel eyes.
