Chapter 9

“This ain’t Hell, kid,” came the voice of a ragged man who seemed to be reading his mind. “You came from Hell. It’s a place where billions are starving. It’s where your clothes are made by distressed workers on slave wages, and sold in decorated, sweet smelling malls. I was one of those salesmen. I could have done something, but greed and selfishness ruled my world.”

Another man broke through the crowd and shouted, “Hell is where animals are kept in dark cages unable to move so that an evil man can profit by their misery. Hell is a place where you work in a job that sucks at your soul just so you can buy over-priced food that leaves your pockets empty. My family suffered until I finally deserted them. Did I care? No. I only cared about myself.”
