Chapter 11

When Preacher heard the sound, electricity shot through his veins, and he whirled around. His eyes widened when he saw a dark shadow, low and sinister.

“Do you know who I am?” Came an evil whisper from within the shadow. “I lurk under a veil of black, beneath a mist that lingers around me, concealing my dark desire. I am the monster that haunts your dreams, the creature that lurks beneath your bed, and in the dark corners of your closet. I am death, I am evil, I am sin…I am you.”

His laugh was warped and horrid, a cackle similar to nails on a chalkboard, a crow’s call that escaped horribly from his lips.

And then suddenly another sound broke through the silence.

“Be gone! You have no business here. I defeated you once and I can do it again!”

With a choking sound, the evil presence evaporated, and the room immediately became cleansed of all evil, and Preacher felt a warm presence all around him.
