At the end of my binge, both entertainment and food-wise, I felt tired and bloated. Yes, the undead, at least this one, got sleepy and gassy.

I kicked the empty Mallomars box, a Cheese Doodle bag, and two dozen fun size Snickers wrappers off the end of the couch to stretch out to maybe get some sleep. I was a stress eater. I’d also gone through four frozen pizzas. Checking the freezer several times during the hours that passed, I was disappointed to see more hadn’t magically appeared to take their place.

“Mushroom and sausage,” I said toward the ceiling at one point.

Like when I’d called for rain, nothing happened.

I still had no powers, and everyone else was likely too busy fighting the good fight to do the magical grocery shopping necessary to restock my refrigerator and pantry.

“Let’s get some shut-eye, Mystic.”

We settled in on the sofa. Quite uneasy, still, I wanted to be close to the exit, in case I was finally allowed out.
