She pointed up at me, so I raised my hand to bring her close. I thought she was speaking, perhaps.
“Huh?” I brought her to my ear.
“Is that the book?”
“Yes.”
“Shh. Your voice is very loud when I’m this small and so close to your mouth.”
“Sorry.” When I whispered, Pansy looked like she was caught in a wind tunnel.
“I’ll fix it.” Pansy recited her spell. “I’ve no more use for the tiny state I’m in, so let’s go ahead and make me big again.” Presto change-o, “Hi,” she was big. If not big, she was bigger.
“Hi. I’ve never held a troll in my arms before.” It was a day of firsts.
Pansy giggled. “You can set me down.”
“Okay.” I stole a hug first. “I’m jealous Artemis got one and I didn’t.”
“You’re fun.” Pansy sat with me once out of my hold. “Should I shrink the book?” she asked.
“Yes.” I closed it, with my hand in the middle, as a bookmark, of sorts, at the visibility spell.
“You should move your hand, or it might shrink, too.”
