“He said yes,” I told the British lovebirds as I steadied myself again. “Okay. Starting over. Ready. Set. Here I come, Shawn. Bloop.”
* * * *
I’d heard the sound. I had the tingle, the head rush, the goosebumps, but when I opened my eyes, everything looked the same.
“I’m still in my bedroom. It didn’t work. We didn’t bloop.”
I heard laughter coming from beyond the door, though.
“Someone’s here.” I switched Mystic to my left palm and reached for the doorknob.
“Don’t forget how you’re here, Otto.”
“Andi?”
“Right behind you.”
“Oh.” I chuckled. “Yeah. If you were a snake…Don’t worry Mister Mystic. She’s not really a snake.”
“Hey, mate.”
“Hi, CJ. Are we back on…Earth?” I asked.
“We are,” Andi said.
“Why do I feel so weird?”
“You have no form in this realm, Otto, just energy.”
“Right. No vessel. I’m invisible, like Artemis.”
“To most people, yeah,” Andi told me.
“Whoa, mate!”
“Blows my mind, too, CJ.” I held my hand up in front of my face. “I can see me.”
