Chapter 18

“Jaecar won’t let you work.”

“That might be, but I have to tell them what’s going on.”

Sandy didn’t object. He too wanted to know what was going on. Was he dead? For each piece his brain managed to put into place, the more unwilling he was to accept the picture it created.

He couldn’t be dead. He wasn’t—he was here. Only, Thaddeus could make him see-through. Maybe all wizards could? But why hadn’t he done it to Ric when he’d attacked him?

He had to have a talk with Ric. He couldn’t go around attacking Thaddeus. Sandy might have wanted him gone, but the pain of seeing Ric sink his fangs into Thaddeus’ skin was indescribable.

His brother had attacked his mate.

Shaking his head as a shiver shot through him, he floated right above the seat in the backseat. “Oh, fuck.”

“What?” Thaddeus craned his neck to look at him.

“I got into the car without opening the door.” Sandy was gonna be sick. He’d gone through the door—through it!

“It’s okay.”
