Ric glanced at Leo who avoided meeting his gaze.

“Continue.” Jaecar nodded at him.

“Ten women registered as humans, all made into angels.”

Sandulf frowned at him. “Because they’ve served a divine purpose?”

Thad pursed his lips. He hadn’t considered the why of it. “Maybe. Giving their life to a higher power?”

“Sick bastard.” Sandulf huffed. “Preying on people weaker than him and calling it divine.”

“We shouldn’t jump to conclusions, it could be he’s mocking them, or us, portraying them as the opposite of what he thinks they are.”

“Who are you talking to?” The fury in Ric’s voice made Thad jump and Sandulf growl.

“Sandulf.” Thad gestured at Sandulf despite knowing no one could see him.

Jaecar stepped into Ric’s line of sight. “Calm down.”

“He’s defiling my brother’s memory.”

Jaecar gave Thad an annoyed look, and Thad turned to Sandy. “Can you tell me something only you and Ric know?”
