“What are you thinking?”
“Maybe I could unlock the door?”
“You’re telling me or asking me?” Sandy raised his eyebrows.
“Asking?”
“You can do anything you want, babe. I believe in you.”
Thad stared at him. He was probably joking, but no one had ever said they believed in him. His parents never had. Frowning, he stared at Sandy.
What if his parents weren’t his parents? He hadn’t given the whole being a sorcerer much thought, but at least one of his parents wasn’t his biological parent. Did people know? Had he walked through life with people laughing behind his back for being so blind?
“What are you thinking?”
“I don’t know who or what I am.”
“You’re mine.”
Thad rolled his eyes. “That’s charming and all, but it doesn’t help us right now.”
“Can you unlock the door? Do we want to unlock the door?”
Thad stared at him. “Of course, we want to unlock the door.”
“Okay.” Sandy nodded. “Can you run?”
