“Okay.” Sandy turned to the east. “I’m checking this side now.”

Thad nodded again. “You’re disappearing about two steps outside the circle, so it’s probably where the edge of the spell is.”

Sandy glanced at him. “How do you break a spell?”

“You use magic.”

With a grimace, Sandy walked closer to the line of the circle. “So, I guess, we’re not doing that.”

Thad frowned. “Not right now, but it could be worth a try once Grim allows me to use magic.”

“But won’t it be gone then?”

Thad shook his head. “He wouldn’t want anyone to walk in on him while he’s at it. Our best bet might be to break the invisibility spell right in the middle of it all and hope someone is in the woods.”

Sandy’s eyes hardened. “That’s not good enough, Thaddeus. It is not our plan. We’re to get you out of here before any magic sucking, skin cutting, or evil chanting begins.”

“Evil chanting?” Thad huffed a laugh.
