Thaddeus reached out and flooded him with magic before focusing on Jaecar again. Sandy wanted to snarl. While he appreciated the magical boost, couldn’t Thaddeus touch him, only to touch him?

“We were kept in a root cellar, so look for something similar.”

Jaecar nodded, Ric and Leo slunk off in different directions, and Thaddeus looked at the once-a-barn stone pile. “Sandy and I will check the area over there.”

Jaecar nodded again and strode toward the ruin of what Sandy believed was the house.

“Come on.” Thaddeus squeezed his hand only to let go again.

“Why don’t you want to touch me?”

Thaddeus stared at him as if he’d lost his mind, and Sandy’s face heated. Could he blush as a ghost? He was solid now so maybe he could. Damn

“I want to touch you, but I only have one working hand, and magic is my only weapon right now.”
