“I think it’s best to stay ghost, at least to begin with. If you need me, don’t hesitate to make me solid.”
“Who are you talking to, Thaddeus?” Grim’s voice echoed in the tunnel and Thad almost yelped.
The shadows moved and Grim appeared in the tunnel. “Please, do come in.” He gestured at the opening into a wide, lit chamber. “I’ve been waiting.” His grin sent a chill down Thad’s spine, and he swallowed hard before taking a step forward.
“Walk slowly.” Sandy sped past him and stopped at the entrance. “It’s a circle, like the one we were in, but with candles surrounding it. And there’s…” Thad watched as Sandy’s claws exploded out of his fingers. “…the guy who killed me.”
Thad forgot how to breathe. A quick glance at Grim told him he’d noticed Thad’s reaction, a small frown appearing between his brows. “What’s the matter, Ezax?”
“Nothing, only that you’re not alone.”
Ric growled behind him.
“Of course I’m not alone. What kind of party would it be if I were?”
