“But…The women? You’re the Angel Maker.”

Grim bowed. “We’ve already discussed my art, but I’m glad you like it.”

“Not really, but thanks for confessing. Again.”

“Are we starting?” Albert moved closer to Jaecar, but his eyes were trained on Grim. There was something off with him, almost as if he was fading like Sandy. His body was gray and frail but appeared solid. His eyes—Thad shuddered, they were more dead than alive, and he appeared unaware of the people around him. He didn’t look at Jaecar and Ric, his gaze slid off them or saw through them.

Grim sighed. “I’d hoped you’d be more excited about this.”

Thad looked at Leo. Couldn’t they arrest him and do all this talking at the station?

“Maybe I would be if I understood what it was we were doing. I came down here to rescue twelve missing women before you turned them into angels.”
