Chapter 26

“Okay. Tom! Lunch is almost ready,” Kat hollered toward the archway. “Poor guy’s probably traumatized.”

“It’s not like he saw you naked.”

“Ha-ha!” She whapped Ben upside the head with her rubber omelet flipper. “I bet he saw you though. Internet, internet. If he’s interested.” She stepped closer, got quieter. “What did Booger say about him when you back-and-forthed this morning? Is he gay? Did they do it?”

Tom Alan, who could still hear them, flattened himself against the wall beside the opening to the kitchen, waiting for Ben’s answer.

“He used the word ‘hot’ when I asked,” Ben said, all low voiced. “I wondered, so I asked. But he didn’t brag about banging him.”

“Thatyou didn’t ask?” Kat was shocked. “I would have.”

“I don’t doubt you would. What isyour fascination with gay-guy sex?” Thornton shook his head.

“I’m a romantic. Guy on guy, girl on girl, my stuffed animals…”
