Chapter 14

“Seriously, don’t panic,” the man at the bar said.

“You don’t understand,” Ian began. “Something is out to get me.”

The bartender shook his head and said, “Wow, you haven’t even had a drink. Still, if this is how you’re starting, I don’t think I’m going to serve you.”

Ian turned to the bartender and said, “You seriously don’t understand.”

The older customer stood from his stool and crossed to Ian. After he gently placed his hand on Ian’s arm, he looked Ian straight in the eye in a concerned way that reminded Ian of his own parents.

“Are you on something, son?” the man asked.

“No, I’m not on anything,” Ian said. “I am being followed by something crazy, and I don’t want it to hurt other people on the train, or me for that matter.”

“You mean someone?” the bartender asked.

“No. No, I don’t,” Ian protested. “I mean something. A stalker I could handle. Whatever this is following me, is much worse than a stalker.”
