“David.”

Eric paused for a second or two, and he raised his head slightly so he could peek at Benjamin. “Who?”

“Always swallow before you speak. Otherwise, you may end up choking on your food.”

Eric was taken aback upon hearing that. There wasn’t anything out of the ordinary about Benjamin’s statements, but the way he said them, along with the intonation, strangely reminded him of his late maternal grandmother.

“You sounded just like my late maternal—”

“Grandma,” Benjamin completed Eric’s sentence for him. “I know.”

“How…I mean, that’s creepy. No offense, man.”

Benjamin smirked. “Have you never wondered why every single dish that I’ve prepared for you brings back memories of her?”

Eric gaped slightly at Benjamin before his amazement at the man’s accurate guess transformed into a feeling akin to horror. “Oh, shit! Are you being possessed by my—”

“Of course not!” Benjamin exclaimed while looking amused. “Don’t be ridiculous. I’m a spirit myself.”
