Chapter 37

“I’m here if you want someone to listen to you.”

“I know. Thanks again, Eric. I really appreciate you.”

“You’re welcome.”

After that, Eric continued to enjoy his meal. Once in a while, he would dart his eyes around the diner and observe the creepy view. All the other customers inside the diner weren’t talking at all. Instead, they were staring intently at the food and drinks in front of them. Even though Eric knew he was the only living, breathing human inside the diner, he wasn’t frightened at all since he had been hanging out there for many times now. He believed that Benjamin would protect him no matter what. He didn’t know where his faith in Benjamin came from. It was simply there. It had probably been there since the first night they met.

“Are you in a hurry to go home?”

Benjamin’s question startled Eric. “Uh, no. Not at all. Why?”

“Are you sure?”
