Troy wondered if he should have gone around to the back of Adam’s house rather than use the grand and imposing double-fronted doors at the front. He half expected the doors to be opened by a butler in livery, who’d look down a snooty English nose at his denim cut offs and college tee.

But before he could even try out the ornate bell pull, one of the doors opened to reveal Adam, who was dressed in similar garb to Troy.

“Dude. Good to see ya!” Adam moved in, pulled Troy into a tight bro hug, and slapped him on the back.

Adam held the embrace for a second or so longer than Troy felt comfortable with. Had Lizzie been right about Adam having the hots for him?

“How’s it hanging?” Adam asked as usual, squeezing Troy’s shoulder.
