Chapter 54

“Of course you’re qualified to train sotans,” Scott had told him. “You’re a tuohygan. That right there is enough qualification.”

“But I don’t have any experience,” Troy had tried to object.

“That doesn’t matter as much as you think. What does matter is respect. Troy, those six kids worship the ground you walk on.”

Troy’s eyes had widened. “I…No.” Troy had shaken his head. They probably thought he was cool because of his powers but…

Scott had scoffed. “I’ve been watching you interact with them. Not just today, but all week. They hang on your every word. They want to please you, want to succeed for you. Even though they’re all straight, I wouldn’t be surprised if at least half of them are a bit in love with you.”

It had been Troy’s turn to scoff.

“Okay, forget about taking over the training program permanently. But will you carry on training this year’s sotans, until we can find someone else?”
