Chapter 10

“Raven will you get my pants? Raven? Where’d he go?”

Leo pointed toward the bathroom. Both boys were missing. “I’ll get them. I’ll even help you get them on.” He leaned down and whispered, “And maybe later I can help you take them off.”

“And do tell us how you ended up in here! And it was so sweet of you to get a puppy for Raven. We have that at Leo’s condo too. His is the one between yours and mine. Mine has a tree through the bedroom window, but Raven said yours was all right. Still, you probably shouldn’t be alone.” That was Em, sensible for a change.

“The boys might want to be alone,” said Ed. “I mean, it’s not like the back seat of a car, or a bathroom, but still, it might be okay.” Everyone laughed. Em banged on the bathroom door. “We’re leaving, if you’re quite done in there. Should I open the door?”

Two voices shouted, “No!”
