It was, in an austere kind of way. Aside from the plain but highly polished ceiling, the only adornment were the ornate curls of the copper wall sconces and the two alcoves with the Mother and Father of All, placed side by side under the only windows. The artist had depicted the two gods holding hands and looking at each other with expressions of serene adoration. In her free hand, the Mother held the copper sphere representing the world. In his free hand, the Father held a tiny female figure, amorphous enough to represent all the gods’ children.
