Principal Wright walked up to the podium.
“Oh, here we go.” Jonas bent down to fiddle with his bag as Wright talked. Seconds later, he offered Victor a piece of chocolate. “It’s sea salt. Abe got it for me.” The whisper was low, but Sara’s hand shot forth between them. Victor jumped. He hadn’t known she was behind them
“Did you think I wouldn’t hear you? Give me some or I’ll tattle.” She grinned.
Wright’s voice droned on in the front, and Victor thankfully popped the chocolate in his mouth. “You should come have pizza with us, Victor.”
“Today?” He hadn’t planned on having pizza today, but if Jian wasn’t at home, going out with Jonas and Sara would beat sitting at home waiting for him to arrive.
“No, not today, but we usually go out every other week or so. Nothing serious, a pizza and a beer and talk some shit about this place.”
“Did you want to add something, Jonas?” Wright’s voice got louder, and Victor winced.
