“It’s time to go home.”
Victor glanced at the watch. “It’s only a quarter past four.”
She grinned and hissed, “Come on. Let’s escape.”
“No, I can’t go forty-five minutes early.”
A laugh bubbled out of her. “No, I guess you can’t. I finish at two on Fridays, but I had some things I wanted to get fixed before the weekend, so I stayed a little longer. Sometimes I hate being a teacher, the work never ends.”
“I hear you.”
She met his gaze and nodded. “Yeah, I guess it’s about the same for you.”
He shrugged. Their jobs differed a lot, but they were both never-ending. “Any big plans for the weekend?”
“No, not really. Hey, you want to grab a pizza on Tuesday? Jonas and I were talking about it earlier.”
“Sure, let me check with Jian so he hasn’t made any plans.” He had been making a lot of plans lately.
“Absolutely.” She bounced on the balls of her feet. “Have a lovely weekend, Victor. I’ll see you Monday.”
