They stepped into the kitchen. “Oh, this is cute.” There was a wood-burning iron stove next to the modern one.
“Looks like it’s been there a long time.” Jian inspected it closely. “I’d say it was installed with the house.”
“We should get one.” It would be so cozy on a winter morning to have wood burning in the kitchen.
Jian grimaced. “I don’t know if we can with our chimney, there have to be the right pipes.”
“Killjoy.”
Jian chuckled. “I’m not saying we can’t, I’m saying I’m not sure we can. We’ll have to check it out. But what if you have it burning hot and your new kitty comes too close?”
Oh…“A kitty?”
Jian looked away. “You were the one who said yetwhen talking about a pet.”
Victor grinned and was about to pull Jian close for a kiss when an older man who was also there to look at the house, glared at them. Jian stiffened and anger welled up inside of Victor. Couldn’t people mind their own fucking business?
