Sara glanced at the clock. “I need to go. Just wanted to grab some pens so I had them in the morning, mine gave out on the last lesson.”


“Of course, I’m out of here too.” He probably had a date to attend. “See you tomorrow!” He waved and headed for the exit. When he got outside, Jian was there waiting for him.


“You’re late.” He sighed dramatically. “You’re always late for our dates.”


Victor laughed. “I was talking to Sara about Dave’s plan to buy more houses to fix up.”


Interest sparked in Jian’s impossibly dark eyes. “Yeah? Has he seen something he likes?”


“No, not that Sara mentioned, at least.” Victor climbed into the pickup. “But he plans on buying more houses, fixing them up, and renting them out. Maybe in a few years, he can cut down on his hours.”
