“You’re joking.” Victor was a bit disappointed. He’d want to read a book with some guys kissing while saving the world.


“Time will tell.” Jian wiggled his eyebrows in the most ridiculous-looking way.


“I will read it, but I need coffee first.”


Jian laughed, folded the corner of a page, and—


“What are you doing?” Victor’s voice reverberated across the room. Jian stared at him as if he’d lost his mind.


“You folded—” He smacked his forehead with his palm. “Please tell me you bought these books, and you aren’t destroying library books.”


“I bought them. It’s only the corner of a page.”


“Only? Only! You’re a monster.” Victor shook his head in disbelief. “All this time, and I’ve never known.”


Victor snorted. “Now, I really need coffee. I don’t think I can overcome the shock otherwise. You think you know a person…” He shook his head which had Jian laughing even more.
