“What are you reading?” Victor tried to peek, but Jian turned the book away.


“They get it on, don’t they? I was gonna ask since werewolf-guy clearly has the hots for his partner.”


Jian huffed. “His name is Ulric, not werewolf-guy.”


Victor rolled his eyes. “Are we having us a book boyfriend?”


Jian growled—maybe he’d been inspired by Ulric—and focused on the book again. Victor did too. They found a lead and ran after a suspect, and Ulric slammed Jack, his human partner, against a wall and kissed him hard. Victor swallowed and glanced at Jian. Damn, that’s hot


He continued to read. Ulric and Jack got interrupted, and they both did their best to pretend nothing had happened. Victor wanted to curse when they each went home to their own place at the end of the day.


“Do you want more coffee?” He held up the pot, and Victor chuckled self-consciously.
