“And by the way, you’re not the only gay guy in the congregation. The choir director is as queer as a three dollar bill,” Jordan added.
“How do you know that?”
“A little thing called gaydar.”
“Gaydar?”
“Ever wonder how I knew you’d be willing to go out with me that day we met at the doctor’s office?”
“Well, yeah, sort of. It freaked me out, actually.”
“That was gaydar. Just little things you observe about a person that give you clues as to where a guy stands on who he’s attracted to.”
Jordan started the car, and they drove off. Spenser was realizing there was a lot about both being gay and his religion he didn’t understand. He was relieved the experience of bringing Jordan to church was over. Perhaps now the bishop’s questions about his relationship with Jordan were answered, and they could move on.
