Spenser laughed. “The now we live in can’t be dragged back to the past. If we stay here it will be. We need to be where it doesn’t matter to anyone who we were, and where we’re accepted for who we are now. To do that, we need to go somewhere where no one knows us, where we can start fresh, just two men who’re in love and not be judged for that. You won’t be the former porn star. I won’t be the overly religious, uptight Christian. We’ll just be Spenser and Jordan, a really hot, cool, gay couple—no baggage, no past. That can’t happen here where there are so many who know me, and we can run into them all the time.”
