Chapter 49

“Let’s get this necromancer business done already,” Wes says so Ollie.

Ollie puts his arms around Wes and says after a long while, “Do you ever get the impression that we should be more worried than we’ve been?”

Wes nods but tells Ollie, “This is so much harder with children. It was different when we were just the two of us. Now, I can’t see past Mica and, even, Randy. When they have problems, I just don’t have the energy.”

“I thought that was just me.”

Wes wants to begin the search for the bodies immediately. It has to be over. Ollie and Wes have more personal things to worry about. Wes’s best chance is to go find the bodies and analyze what makes them move in a certain direction. Though their tether would most probably not be obvious until he sees it from both sides—Ollie and Wes would have to meet the necromancer before Wes can know for sure he can act—it’s helpful to get a feeling for it so Wes can act promptly.
