She's fast.
Ovia's way ahead of me.
We are running through random valleys at this point. I can't catch up to them, but to say that kid's really fast.
Looking around while trying to catch up to them Aalish spots an exit out of the dark valley, he stops paying attention to Ovia and runs toward the exit. Getting out of there the light shines brightly into his eyes, the sun's strong, but he chooses to ignore that. He looks around and spots three food stands against the wall of a building.
Running towards the food stands, full of random food from sun melons to cooked chicken.
Aalish jumps on the wooden roof covered with a blanket of the middle food stand and proceeds to use that roof as means to jump higher.
The only look left on the people running the food stands was surprise and fear.
Jumping higher he gets on the roof of the tall house behind the stands.
''Hey, kid what do you think you're doing!? You destroyed my stand's roof and you could have ruined my food!''
''I'll be sure to pay for it when I get back!''
He says while starting to jump on the other rooftop.
''What the-!''
He's jumping on rooftops in search of Ovia and that little girl. Trying to spot them, something else catches his eye.
A bunch of Amaryllis' Warriors on a rooftop just enough away so that he could see them.
Leto district has an octagon shape while being split into four parts equally. Part 1: Aster, Part 2: Snapdragon, Part 3: Pansies, Part 4: Winterberry.
Amaryllis is a bit different. Amaryllis is in the middle of the district and taking a circle-like shape. Amaryllis is a place where the Leto district's family head lives. You could call it the fifth part, but people treat it like something higher. They know that the person living there is their protector and savior so they call it Amaryllis, the flower of hard work, achievement, strength, and determination.
What are Amaryllis Warriors doing here? We are top left from the middle part. We are in Aster; I don't know what are they doing here, but the Leto district is a size of a country so they must have something serious going on.
While jumping from roof to roof I try to look for Ovia. Looking through the valley from above is way better.
Searching, searching and searching, and so I spot.
Waves of green just barely touching the light of the sun. Sparkling lime green hair that I was feeling between my fingers just moments ago.
Speeding up I ignore the full black-dressed Amaryllis Warriors with black masks over their faces. I can't tell what they look exactly.
Just as I started going to where the green hair flashed for a second, I see Amaryllis warriors going to a complete opposite location.
Jump from one to another, the rooftops are dark brown and rather flat. It's easy to jump from one to another since the space between them isn't that large.
Jumping into the valley from where I saw the green hair. Falling into the valley I notice Ovia not moving an inch just standing and looking at the dead end.
''Ovia!''
Just as I get down, I call out to her. I can see her slowly turning around while keeping eye contact with the wall.
''Hey, Ovia!''
The valley is dark you can't see the end of the dead end. It looks like it can stretch in infinity. Rather than shaking her up and making her look at me, I decided to look in the direction that she's looking at. Stepping next to her on her right, I can now see what I failed to see moments ago.
My head is full of calm and rational thought change in a matter of a second. The ugly and disgusting smell hits my nose reaching my head.
In front of me, there's…
… A dead body.
The body is opened up, the scene is brutal. The stomach has a giant hole, no organs whatsoever. Empty, the body is empty, even the eyes are gone.
The person before me is dead. The body is naked, but even if it's naked and completely exposed I can't tell whether this is a man or a woman. Every organ was ripped out. Ears, nose, nipples, tongue. Everything.
The mouth is opened revealing that there are barely any teeth left. A skinny naked unrecognizable body was lying in front of our eyes.
…
Silence, silence is inevitable in this situation. What are we supposed to say? Is someone supposed to freak out and scream? And the other one call the guards?
But the both of us just watch.
1…2…3…4…5 minutes pass. Even after all that time, the body still looks unpleasant as before. Questions are there, or more likely can be there, but of course they are here, here; in my head, and probably there; in Ovia's head.
With an attempt to look as normal and calm as possible I turn toward Ovia. His eyes were still glued to the scene and her face with an angry but sad expression. Even by just looking I can tell that she's disgusted, not by the fact that a dead body is in front of her, but by the fact that someone could do something so horrible.
With no hesitation, I put myself before her covering the dead body.
''Have you seen enough now?''
The question and sudden interruption woke her up from the thoughts she was having.
''Let's go get Yota.''
I add while grabbing her hand and starting to walk away.
''Who could have done something like this!''
Anger.
''What's going through their head!? A body killed like that. This was no killing… this was complete enjoyment to the thing that caused this!''
What I saw in her eyes.
''Killing someone with a reason is acceptable, but here! Here there was no reason, but enjoyment!''
Was pure anger.
'Some people do deserve to die... Killing people who do things like that is completely right, killing people is right... Under the right conditions. I will find them and do what's the right thing to do….. And strip them of their life like they stripped his, I will do what's right with wrong. Even if I am seen as bad and cruel, I know that the thing that I'll do will only help make things right.''
Determent and serious.
That was what the tone of her voice was when she looked back at the dead body. I don't know if the dead body created her thinking just now or just twisted it, but I could tell that at that time we both realized that the world's a bit different from what we knew. The thing that every person hides in the back of his mind is the cruelness and unfairness of this world. But even if we hide it or cover it with our daily lives sometimes the thing that we covered and hid under that blanket reveals itself to us.
