Jasper almost choked on his drink as his brain comprehended the meaning of Jessie’s question.


“He’s supposed to be back in a few days,” Jasper said. “That’s what William told me.”


The silence enveloped them for a while, until Daniel, in charge of choosing the channel, stopped clicking. The TV screen turned blue as the movie started playing.


“For the last time, we’re not watching Frozen II,” Simon complained. His outburst was met with a few empty stares and a pitying look from Jasper


“But you loved the first part,” Daniel chirped as he turned the volume up.


Jasper knew he wouldn’t let anyone distract him from doing what he wanted.
