Simon realized he must’ve thought about it for a while. “Do they have to know?”
“No, I guess they don’t, but it’s killing the friend inside to hide it.” Daniel looked at him with pleading eyes.
Simon grabbed Daniel’s arm as he was about to get up.
“It’s okay, these friends will appreciate honesty. I’m sure your friend will benefit from letting them know too. If this is his last chance to tell them, he should do it.” Simon, with his every word, brought the catastrophe closer and closer, the very catastrophe he tried to keep away. At this very moment, he thought he did a good thing as Daniel looked at him with wide grateful eyes and gave him a half-hug before rushing off.
Simon blinked in confusion before going back to scrolling his phone. He had to be alert in case something came up. After all, he couldn’t let this wedding get ruined.
