It was enough to say that Liam coming home didn’t go exactly as planned. Firstly, Jasper didn’t expect to be hugged as if nothing happened. Secondly, he didn’t expect Daniel’s speculations to come and bite him in the ass as Milo showed up on his doorsteps. In his dreams, Liam came back and dramatically slapped him at the airport. He shouted because he was mad and hurt. He cried because he couldn’t forgive Jasper, yet, smiled because he loved him still, despite all that happened. In his dreams, there was always a happy ending.
He was afraid he didn’t believe in that dream anymore.
Maybe he should’ve known that it was over ever since Liam hadn’t contacted him. Maybe he should’ve tried harder, begged William to send him wherever Liam was.
Maybe he could do nothing to repair it.
