Kol gripped the steering wheel hard. He wanted to rage, to shout, to growl, but he got the car rolling again, and focused on the case.

He didn’t know what they could do. What could they find in Elijah’s house? Fingerprints perhaps, and if they were lucky, the owner of them would have a record. But would anyone be stupid enough to leave any behind? And they would find his and Elora’s fingerprints too. They’d touched door handles, the sock drawer, and probably other surfaces too. Kol hadn’t wiped anything down before leaving.

A forensic team might find something out about the drug used. He’d have to contact the precinct in Ashork, but they didn’t have a paranormal department. Few cities did, and while he trusted an all-human forensic team, he’d have loved to see a few non-humans there too. But they didn’t have any non-humans on their forensic team either, so it was nothing he could hold against Ashork.

“What are you thinking?” Elora’s voice dragged him back.
