Chapter 24

His kidnapper didn’t show any signs of noticing the danger approaching, but Eli curled into a ball. He didn’t think it was Varg, his emotional pattern didn’t match, but if it was, Eli didn’t want to be the first thing he saw when he came through the door.

Everything stood still, and then little by little, the shark moved away.

Eli blew out a breath of relief, but he shouldn’t have. The shark turned. It came toward them at a rapid pace, aiming straight for the door.

He shouted half a second before the door was kicked open. His kidnapper jumped to his feet and reached for his gun, but he wasn’t fast enough.

Blood sprayed around them as Jaecar dug his claws into the man’s throat and ripped out his larynx.
