Chapter 30

He had his mate.

Rubbing his head against Eli’s belly again, he looked up and licked his hand.

“Eww!” Elijah yanked away his hand. “I don’t want cat slime on me.”

Kol huffed again. Had he been sure of Eli’s reaction, he’d have licked his face, but he didn’t want to overdo it. This was the first time Elijah touched him.

Kol pushed him toward the door.

“You want me to go inside?”

Kol bobbed his head.

“But you’re…” Elijah ran a hand over his neck, and Kol shivered at the touch, but nudged him with his head again. “Can’t I sit here?” Elijah gestured at the doorstep. “You should have a small patio here.” He gestured along the wall of the house. “A small one with a couple of chairs or a bench, so one could sit and watch the forest.”

If he wanted a patio, Kol would give him a patio, but he wanted Elijah inside the house in case someone was coming or watching them. He hadn’t secured the area yet.

Eli sat on the doorstep. “I’ll sit here.”
