“But…you want to?”

Kol grimaced. “I’m a social introvert.”

“A what?”

“I want to be around people, I care about people, but at the end of the day, I want peace and quiet and never to see a living soul ever again. It creates a conflict inside me. I’ve made the department my pack or pride or group or whatever you want to call it. The only problem is I’m not a pack animal. I’m not a wolf, I will never be a wolf. I consider Thad and Elora mine despite them not being shifters, they’re part of my group, they’re my family. None of them will ever consider me family, though.” It was the main issue.

“Why?” Elijah had calmed, curiously looking at Kol.
