Chapter 34

“I’ll drop something.”

Jaecar shrugged. “I have a washing machine.”

Eli didn’t know how to reply, but he got out of the bed. Better not risk Jaecar’s wrath.

“Okay.” Jaecar nodded. “Living room?”

A slight shiver traveled Eli’s spine. Was it a trick? Was he allowed to eat by the TV? He always did back home, but Varg hadn’t allowed it.

Jaecar’s lips formed a thin line. “I’m eating in the living room by the TV. Would you like to join me?”

Eli nodded.

“Excellent.” Jaecar winked at him and grinned. “Come on, babe. I bet there’s some terrible sitcom or something needing our attention.”

Eli swallowed hard but followed Jaecar into the living room. The aching need was constantly present, making him lose his appetite. As minutes went by and Jaecar didn’t jump him, he almost prayed he would, to get it over with. Waiting for a cat to pounce wasn’t something he handled well.

“What’s wrong?”

Eli jumped. “What?”

“You’re growing more and more tense.”
