“What?” Kol’s voice went deep.

“I feel you.”

He nodded. “Don’t you always?” Didn’t he feel everyone, wasn’t it what he did? It was why he couldn’t be around people, why he couldn’t be in the city.

“Yes, but normally everyone’s emotions roll over me, but yours are living inside me.” He shrugged. “Perhaps it’s because we’re touching.”

Or perhaps it was because they were mates. Kol hoped. 18

Eli slid his hand up Jaecar’s chest. He wanted to touch him, kiss him again, but he didn’t know if it was a good idea.

Jaecar tilted his head. “What are you thinking?”

Eli grinned, heat curling in his chest. “I won’t tell.”

Jaecar’s eyes flashed yellow as they filled with heat. “Elijah.”

The raspy tone as Jaecar spoke his name had tingles racing across his skin. He slid his hand higher on Jaecar’s chest, trailed the neck of his T-shirt, his fingertips caressing his skin.
