Leo nodded. “We still have to backtrack the scent trail and see where he came from.”


Did they? Kol wasn’t sure. Last time they’d fallen for a warlock’s trap, Ric had almost lost his head. “It’s what he wants us to do. He left here in a car, he hasn’t dropped Elijah and Elora off and walked back here to get another car. It’s a trap.”


“I’ll follow the trail.” Frank’s glare surprised Kol.


“Last time, a warlock lured us into the train tunnels back in Rockshade, and we almost died.”


Frank met his gaze full on. “I think the goal of his plan is to keep us occupied. I’ll take the bait, and you find Elijah.”


Kol nodded. “Be careful, they’re trickier than you think. We’ll put out an ABP on the car. Leo call it in. And update Ric.”


Leo nodded and walked away to make the call, Frank left to follow the scent trail, and Ulf walked up to stand next to Kol. “What do we do?”
