Trying to find Jaecar would mean she’d pass out. He couldn’t carry her for long, and staying in one place to wait for her to wake up would leave them both in risk of getting hypothermia. “I don’t know. I can’t carry you.”


She was quiet for a long while. “Are you sure you can’t carry me?”


A strangled laugh left her. “They do. I must have gotten used to it, or I always freak out a little when I wake up in a different place than where I was, but usually Leo is there when I wake.”


“Stop it. He’s a little more caring than the rest of the bunch.”
