Chapter 48

The restaurant, Prism, was packed that night. It was Friday evening, and everyone was celebrating the end of the week. Sometimes, even Ethan was amazed at what strings his uncle could pull. The waiter seated them in a booth near the back and handed them a pair of menus. Even though Ethan had asked to go out, he didn’t feel the urge to order anything specific.

“Hm…I’m thinking about the tilapia,” said Nik.

“Mm.”

“That or the roast. The roast looks good. Carrots…What do you think?”

“Mm.”

“Ooh, black forest ham.”

“Mhm.”

“Okay.”

Suddenly, Ethan’s menu was pushed flat to the table. Nik stared at Ethan expectantly. “Are you ever going to talk about it?”

“Talk about what?”
