“Gentlemen, I’m sorry for disturbing you, but we won’t be able to repair the engines in a timely manner. Another yacht has already been dispatched, and the captain will either finish the tour or take you back to the dock.”


“We’ll go back to the dock,” Nick announced. “And thanks for letting us know.”


“Do you want to go back to your cottage?” Alec asked, once they were alone again.


“No, you should go back to your husband. I think it’s better that way.”


The tone of Nick’s voice told Alec he meant exactly what he said. Alec wasn’t sure he agreed, but he nodded and turned to watch for the rescue boat’s arrival. 7
